Uprooting University Apartheid in South Africa

Teresa Barnes, of the UIUC History, Gender & Women's Studies Department and Director of African Studies, talks about her book, "Uprooting University Apartheid in South Africa: From Liberalism to Decolonization," which uses the political biography of a philosophy professor at the University of Cape Town to argue that apartheid was generated from within the university as well as imposed from without.
