The Center for African Studies Outreach Program facilitates the study of Africa and the dissemination of knowledge and information on and about Africa and its Diasporas for diverse constituencies. Our work is anchored in activities that support the teaching of Africa content in the K-12 classroom, and in enhancing national and international awareness and community engagement in discussion and debate about rich and diverse African histories, cultures, perspectives and the African presence in the world.
We provide a wide-range of resources, services and programs to K-12 teachers, and students, post-secondary institutions across Illinois, our local Urbana - Champaign and Central Illinois communities and to the general public, to community and public organizations, businesses and media outlets.
We work collaboratively with our constituents to investigate, narrate and celebrate global African life and cultures.
