Dr. Imelda K. Moise
Dr. Imelda K. Moise, a health geographer, graduated from the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Science (GGIS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December 2012. She is a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)/ Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Advisor at John Snow Inc.’s International Public Health Division in Washington D.C. where she supports USAID-funded projects (e.g., MEASURE Evaluation and the USAID|DELIVER PROJECT) in supported countries. Dr. Moise is also anticipating completing an MPH from the University of Illinois at Springfield in spring 2015.
In the past year, Dr. Moise’s work has involved supporting the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health, which has conducted a National Supply Chain assessment. This assessment assessed the capability maturity of Nigeria’s supply chain at multiple levels—from the central level to service delivery points (SDPs), and across operation functional areas and cross-cutting organizational elements, or enablers, such as human resources, processes, and infrastructure. Her other work during the past year has involved supporting the field office in Zambia to develop impact indicators for capacity building efforts, sustainability, and health outcomes to ascertain the contribution of supply chain systems to health outcomes. Additionally, one of her supported activities aimed at harnessing data from different systems to inform evidence-based decision making for strengthening the health system in Zimbabwe. Recently, she spent four weeks in Burundi supporting the Ministry of Health or Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la lutte contre le SIDA (MSPLS) as it conducted an HIV/AIDS Sentinel Surveillance Needs Assessment as well as a Partner Mapping exercise to determine aid effectiveness based on the 2008 Accra Agenda for Action and the 2005 Paris Declaration for Action.
Dr. Moise has co-authored peer-reviewed publications, guidance documents, and presentations at various conferences and symposia such as ones concerned with GIS applications in health, HIV, food environments, brief intervention for at-risk drinking in pregnancy, organizational capacity, and more general public health issues such as modeling and understanding accessibility to primary health care and disease risk in underserved and at-risk populations. Her most recent publication is a guidance document on the application of geospatial analysis for Monitoring and Evaluation in Global Health and is titled, "Geospatial Analysis in Global Health M&E: A Process Guide to Monitoring and Evaluation for Informed Decision Making,” accessible at https://www.cpc.unc.edu/measure/publications/ms-14-98/.

Yaa Cuguano is a passionate educational technologist, avid organizer, and a leading change maker. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Ringier Ghana, a multinational Swiss media company, where she overseas business intelligence, CRM software, human resource management, and development. She prefers to help build sustainable teams in cooperating institutions using a collaborative human-centric approach. Cuguano believes that human ingenuity needs to be cultivated and encouraged in the workplace. In her spare time, she likes to travel and garden. She is also a designer at heart and is working on her own collection of high-end luxury wear.
