This brown-bag conversation brought together librarian-scholars from multiple institutions and continents to examine how open access can support the decolonization of African collections. Speakers explored longstanding practices of description, access, ownership, and stewardship of African knowledge, centering equity, collaboration, and community engagement.

Hosted in collaboration with the Center for African Studies, the International and Area Studies Library, and the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs, the program featured Reggie Raju, Andiswa Mfengu, Deborah LaFond, and Jason Schultz, who shared critical insights and practical pathways toward more just and inclusive knowledge futures.
